Mobile phones

The mobile phone is considered as one of the necessary things in our lives. We depend on it heavily these days, although many car accident have been recorded because of using it while driving.
In some cases it is necessary to have a mobile phone in your car in case of emergency such as running out of petrol, having a flat tyre or to get help if got lost. Also, having a mobile phone in the car can help you saving lives by reporting a serious accident.
On the other hand, there is no doubt that using mobile phones is a major cause of deadly accidents. So, to use mobile phones in case of emergency we should use headsets or it’s even better to stop the car completely to make a call. Sometimes having mobile phones in cars can be a source of distraction to the driver as we have to pay more attention to the road.
In my opinion, having a mobile phone in the car is important as long as we use it in a safe way by following the regulations and the road rules which urge us to use a headset to use the phone.

Argument essay about smoking

Smoking is a widespread phenomenon that can cause many serious diseases. I see many people smoking. Many of them are people who I know. Although it is harmful in some ways, it can help some people to relax. First, let me start with the positive points.
First of all, smoking can help smokers to relax from the stressful daily routine. Some people think it makes them feel good when they are nervous. What’s more, people have the right to smoke as long as they smoke away from people and public places. Next, many families in poor countries depend mainly on tobacco. As it is their main job to grow and to cut tobacco leaves.
Now, let’s talk about the negative things. First but not least, smoking is a major cause of lung cancer and heart disease as well as many other chronic diseases. Next, smoking near people in public places like shopping malls, coffee shops and at the office is not only harming you, it’s also harming other people around you. By saying other people this can be people who you love and you care for. Another point is that when you light up a cigarette you are burning your money as well. It’s a waste of money.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that I can respect the freedom of smokers, but I believe they should think about it twice as it is harmful for them and for others.

Road Congestion in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is considered one of the modern cities in the world. Lately, it has become a very well-known city. Although, like any other big city, it has some disadvantages. Traffic congestion is one of the disadvantages that people of Abu Dhabi are suffering from. In this essay I’m going to talk about the causes of the traffic congestion and then I’m going to talk about the possible solutions.
Let’s start with the causes. First, growth of the population is considered a major cause of the traffic congestion. The more population there is the more cars there will be. The second cause is that the number of female drivers is increasing each year. Another cause is that we have an increase in the number of trucks which makes it even more crowded.

Now, let us discuss the possible solutions. First, constructing a railway can be an effective solution for this kind of problem, but will cost the government a lot of money and it’s going to take a lot of time to make it ready. Second, expanding the roads can be a part of solving this problem. Next, constructing alternative routes can be an excellent idea to make the city roads less crowded. Then, constructing more bridges can help in solving this problem.
In conclusion, I would like to say that the government should take action regarding it because it can affect people’s lives. In my point of view the most viable solution would be expanding the roads because it can be much cheaper than constructing a railway.

young people drop out of school

Education is one of the most important things in our life.  Nowadays many young people drop out of  school for some reasons.  In this essay I’m going to discuss some of the causes that make young students drop out of school and some of the solutions that can help in solving these problems. To begin with let us start with the causes.
First, a lot of students drop out of school to get a job where they can live on their own away from home.  By getting a job they can have a salary, a flat, a nice car and many other things that any young boy can dream about. A big number of young people join the army or the police because they don’t have to get a certificate to join them.  Another reason is that many students are not good at school.  They always fail because they are not trying hard enough to pass at school therefore they drop out of it.  What’s more, making friends with the bad guys can make them skip school by learning bad habits from them, so instead of going to school they prefer to hang out with their bad friends. Now, lets talk about some of the solutions that should be taken under consideration.  First, parents have the biggest role in raising their kids in a good way.  It’s their responsibility to educate them and encourage them to finish school  and what’s more important is to choose good friends for them and keep them away from the bad friends.  Second, schools can give weak students extra classes to help them pass the lessons.  Third, the government can give the student a promotional salary to urge them to study and stay at school.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that we have to do something regarding this serious problem.  I believe that the main viable solution is in parents' hands.

UK Budget 1996

This pie chart shows information about the spending of the UK government in 1996 which is divided into ten different segments.
First comes the social security which has the highest rate. That’s because the UK government thinks that the social security is an important issue, therefore it spent £100 billion on social security. Then comes health and personal social services which got an amount of £53 billion. That’s nearly half of what the social security got. It’s the government responsibility to take care of the citizens and their needs. Third comes the education which plays a big role in developing the country. Then comes the debt interest followed by other expenditure and defence which got a similar amount of money. After that comes the law and order which the government spent £17 billion on. Then comes housing heritage and environment. It got £15 billion. It’s important that the country looks clean. After that come the industry, agriculture and employment where the government spent £13 billion. Finally comes the transport which got the smallest portion which was £9 billion.
The UK government spent a total of £315 billion. That’s a big number to spend, but it’s for the people's sake. The amount spent on social security was almost a third of the total budget.

Reflection 2

Few days are left until the end of this semester. Mr. Hedley and Mr. Paul have spent a great effort teaching us English 125 which includes the writing, the reading and the listening which I have good results in. Although It was a little rough because we had to go through a lot of writing, but I have gained more experience in English. However, I have met nice and wonderful classmates.

How to make Popcorn

Usually we buy popcorn at the movies, but it’s very easy to make popcorn at home. To do so, you have to follow some simple steps.
First, three tablespoons of oil are put in a large pot. Then, the oil is heated on a high flame until one kernel of popcorn pops when it is dropped into the hot oil. Now, a quarter cup of popcorn is poured into the pot and the pot is covered with a lid. After that, the flame should be reduced and the pot is gently shaken. It should be shaken constantly and carefully watched because the popcorn maybe burned. Finally, the popcorn must be emptied into a large bowl and melted butter and salt could be added.
Now you can enjoy your popcorn while watching your favorite movie.
